Since my fireplace isn't actually a working fireplace, I'm able to take advantage of the hearth and firebox for my Christmas decorating needs. I have these larger decorations, some homemade, some gifts, so I stack some wrapped boxes to stage them at proper heights and arrange them in the firebox area. I failed to take out the candlestand that is usually in there, and the large glass vases, so that's what you see poking up in the back. But now that you've seen the mantel, I thought you might like to see what was below it.
